Google Find Hub Smart Tag Setup Guide

Google Find Hub Smart Tag Setup Guide

Oscanna Android smart tags connect to compatible Android phones using Google Fast Pair and Google Find Hub.

For most customers, the Fast Pair method is the quickest and easiest way to connect the tag.

The Fast Pair Method

Most compatible Oscanna tags should pair automatically when they are activated close to your Android phone.

Step 1 — Prepare Your Phone

Make sure:

• Your Android phone is unlocked.
• Bluetooth is switched on.
• Location Services are switched on.
• Your phone is connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data.
• You are signed in to your Google Account.
• Google Play services are up to date.
• Only one unpaired smart tag is close to your phone during setup.

Step 2 — Put the Tracker into Pairing Mode

Remove the battery pull tab, if fitted.

If your tracker has a pairing button, press or hold it as instructed for your particular Oscanna model.

You should hear an activation or confirmation sound when the tag enters pairing mode.

For rechargeable models, make sure the tag has sufficient charge before beginning.

Step 3 — Wait for the Fast Pair Pop-Up

Bring the tracker close to your Android phone.

After a few moments, a pop-up should appear on your screen. It may say:

• Wireless Tag
• Fast Pair
• Connect
• Set up
• A nearby device has been found

Do not dismiss the notification.

Step 4 — Connect the Tag

Tap Connect or Set up.

Follow the instructions shown on your phone.

Choose the Google Account you want to link the tracker to.

Accept any permissions or Find Hub terms when requested.

Give the tag a clear name, such as:

• Keys
• Luggage
• Backpack
• Wallet
• Bicycle

Once setup is complete, the tag should appear in Google Find Hub.

Manual Pairing Through Android Settings

Use this method if the Fast Pair pop-up does not appear.

Step 1 — Open Settings

Open the Settings app on your Android phone.

Step 2 — Open Google Services

Tap Google.

Select All services.

Step 3 — Open Find Hub

Scroll down and tap Find Hub.

Select Devices.

Tap Scan for nearby devices.

Step 4 — Select Your Tag

Make sure the tag is active and close to your phone.

Select the Oscanna tag when it appears in the list.

Follow the on-screen instructions to link it to your Google Account.

Menu names may vary slightly depending on your phone manufacturer and Android version.

After Pairing

Open the Google Find Hub app.

Select your new tracker from the list of devices or items.

Tap Play sound or Ring to test it.

Confirm that:

• The tag makes a sound.
• The tag appears in Find Hub.
• Its current or most recently reported location is shown.

Only attach the tracker to your keys, bag, luggage or other item after setup has been completed successfully.

If the Tag Does Not Appear

Try the following:

• Move the tracker closer to your phone.
• Check that Bluetooth is switched on.
• Check that Location Services are switched on.
• Make sure your phone is connected to the internet.
• Check that nearby-device scanning is enabled.
• Keep other unpaired smart tags away during setup.
• Restart your phone and try again.
• Replace the battery or recharge the tracker if necessary.
• Reactivate or reset the tag using the instructions supplied with your particular Oscanna model.

If Pairing Takes Too Long

Some tracker models remain in pairing mode for only a short period.

If the Fast Pair notification appeared but the setup was not completed, the tag may leave pairing mode or enter sleep mode.

Before trying again:

  1. Reset or reactivate the tag using the supplied model instructions.

  2. Wait for the confirmation sound.

  3. Keep the tag close to your phone.

  4. Begin the Fast Pair process again immediately.

If the Tag Was Previously Paired

A tracker already linked to another Google Account may need to be removed from that account before it can be paired again.

Remove the tracker from Google Find Hub on the previous account, then reset it using the instructions supplied with the tag.

Important Information
