Is there an AirTag for Android?
There is no Apple AirTag that you can set up as an Android tracker. Android phones can warn you about an unknown AirTag travelling with you and can read a lost AirTag by NFC, but they cannot register that AirTag to an Android owner's account.
If you want AirTag-style finding on Android, choose a tag that clearly states Google Find Hub compatible. Google renamed Find My Device to Find Hub, so you may see both names in older instructions and search results. A genuine Find Hub tag is different from a basic Bluetooth finder that works only through its own companion app.

How Google Find Hub tracker tags work
A Find Hub tag uses Bluetooth rather than carrying its own GPS receiver or mobile-data connection. When the tag is nearby, you can use Find Hub to make it play a sound. When it is farther away, a participating Android device passing within Bluetooth range can securely relay the tag's detected location to the owner.
This wider network can be much more useful than an app-only Bluetooth tag, but it is important to understand the limitation: a Find Hub tag is not a continuous live GPS tracker. The freshness of a location update depends on a participating Android device detecting the tag. Coverage, phone settings, battery condition and the number of nearby devices all affect how quickly a new location appears.
Google states that network location reports are end-to-end encrypted. Users can also choose how their Android phone participates in the network, including a setting designed for busier places.
What phone and settings do you need?
For the full crowdsourced Find Hub network, use a compatible phone running Android 9 or later. Some newer finding options can require a more recent Android version, so install current system updates before setup.
You will normally need:
- a compatible Android phone running current software;
- a Google Account signed in on the phone;
- Bluetooth and Location switched on;
- Find Hub enabled;
- an internet connection during setup; and
- a PIN, pattern or password set as the phone's screen lock.

Will a Find Hub tag work with Samsung Galaxy or Google Pixel?
Google Find Hub is an Android service; it is not limited to Pixel phones. It can work on compatible Android devices, including compatible Google Pixel and Samsung Galaxy models, provided the phone, software and settings meet the requirements.
Do not confuse Google Find Hub with Samsung SmartThings Find. They are separate finding systems. A Samsung phone may be able to use Google Find Hub, but that does not automatically mean every Samsung SmartTag or every third-party tag works on both networks. What if your household uses both iPhone and Android?
A tag made only for Google Find Hub does not automatically work with Apple Find My, and an Apple Find My tag does not automatically work with Google Find Hub. Mixed-phone households can use dedicated tags for each network or choose a model designed to be configured for either platform.

How to pair a tag with Google Find Hub
- Update your Android phone and confirm Bluetooth, Location and Find Hub are enabled.
- Sign in to your Google Account and set a secure screen lock.
- Remove the battery tab or activate the tracker as shown in its instructions.
- Hold the tag close to the phone and accept the Fast Pair prompt.

- Open Find Hub and test the sound while the tag is still nearby.
